PRASAC was established in 1995 under the European Union's funding and was initiated under a development project aimed at restoring and supporting agriculture in six provinces around Phnom Penh. Over 20 years of development and development, PRASAC is now one of the largest MFI in Cambodia in terms of assets, portfolios, credit quality, net profit, deposits and efficiency.
PRASAC has branches in 25 provinces and cities through 177 branches, 126 ATMs, 7,600 staffs and operates in 13,996 villages, accounting for 98% of the total villages.
Of all microfinance institutions in 2018, PRASAC ranked first in terms of assets with a market share of 35.81%.
