ACLEDA Bank Conducts Groundbreaking Ceremony

Phnom Penh, December 17, 2012, ACLEDA Bank, the bank you can trust and the Cambodia's leading commercial bank, has celebrated the groundbreaking ceremony for its new headquarters tower behind its current headquarters building located at #61, Preah Monivong Blvd., Sangkat Srah Chork, Khan Daun Penh, Phnom Penh. The new headquarters will be the modern high-rise building with 20 floors and 04 basements for the working spaces of 43,000 sqm (office spaces, canteen, and parking lots). It is equipped with security, energy conserving and fire protection, centralized network monitoring and communication, and IT support system.
The new headquarters tower has been designed by internationally and reputable companies renowned Aedas, Architect Consultant; iLi Consulting Engineers Mekong Ltd., Civil & Structure Consultant; Optima Consultant Ltd, MEP Consultant; and BK Asia Pacific, Quantity Surveying Consultant. This new tower will be built by HYUNDAI AMCO CO., LTD., which is one of professional and reputable construction companies in South Korea as well as in the world, and it has its successful record in Cambodia. ACLEDA Bank has obtained its construction permit No. 253 DNS/RDN dated November 21, 2012 and its construction site opening permit No. 162 RSN/NSN dated November 22, 2012 awarding by the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction and General Construction Department. The construction will commence this month, December 2012 and it's expected to complete within the next 24 months construction period.
Dr. IN Channy, the President & CEO of ACLEDA Bank Plc., said, "Increasing number of customers have pledged their trust with ACLEDA Bank, the need for ACLEDA Bank financial services and products have grown tremendously for the past 12 years in the banking phase, and especially for the past 5 years since we have moved to this building in 2007. Loan portfolios have grown at 289% from US$315 million to US$1.2 billion; savings have grown by 318% from US$344.6 million to US$1.44 billion by November 2012; branches and offices have grown from 204 to 238 branches and offices or up by 17%; and the staff have grown from 4,401 to 7,611 for the same period or up by 73%. To respond to the strong growth, ACLEDA Bank is in great need to extent with more spaces in terms of branches and offices nationwide, especially the current headquarters to match with the strong growth and in order to be best serving our value customers, and for the safe keeping of their assets placing with us. Five years ago, we had built this headquarters with 6-story building office spacing of 6,083 sqm to accommodate 500 headquarters staff, and with the parking lots for 168 vehicles. Today we are celebrating the ground breaking ceremony to start the extension and construction of the new headquarters building with 20 stories, and 04 basements for the total space of 43,000 sqm to accommodate 1,400 headquarters staff, 703 vehicles, and canteen for staff."

Indication today, ACLEDA Bank, has 238 branches and offices throughout Cambodia, 28 branches and offices in Laos, and 01 branch in Myanmar with the total assets over US$1.9 billion by the end of November 2012. It has four Subsidiaries such as ACLEDA Bank Lao Ltd., ACLEDA Securities Plc., ACLEDA Training Center, and ACLEDA MFI Myanmar Co., Ltd. and strategically we are going to expand our operations in to the ASEAN region and all potential countries along the Mekong River.
