The Official Grand Opening of New ACLEDA Institute of Business Campus

Phnom Penh, December 26, 2018, ACLEDA Institute of Business (AIB), the Institute of Your Successful Professional Career, has announced today that New AIB campus, addressed #1397, Phnom Penh-Hanoi Friendship Blvd., Phum Anlong Kngan, Sangkat Khmuonh, Khan Saensokh, Phnom Penh, Kingdom of Cambodia is inaugurated. The official grand opening is under the presidency of H.E. Academician Aun Pornmoniroth, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Finance, High Representative of Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, and is participated by H.E. Dr. Hang Chuon Naron, Minister of Education, Youth, and Sport, H.E. Uk Maly, Deputy Governor of the National Bank of Cambodia, H.E, Neak Oknha, Louk Oknhea, professors, students, distinguished local and international guests.
Dr. Phon Narin, Managing Director of ACLEDA Institute of Business (AIB) said that AIB is a subsidiary of ACLEDA Bank Plc. and passed through many phases. It initially had established a Training Unit and was transformed into a Training Division on July 01, 2018. On April 12, 2018, the Training Division then was transformed into an ACLEDA-ASEAN Regional Microfinance Training Centre which exclusively operated from the bank so that it could fully train management and staff of ACLEDA Bank Plc. and public trainees from both local and overseas. On September 13, 2018, the ACLEDA-ASEAN Regional Microfinance Training Centre licensed as a private company, subsidiary of the ACLEDA Bank Plc., which was registered at Ministry of Commerce of Kingdom of Cambodia under No. Co. 1332 KH/2011 as a single member private limited company named "ACLEDA Training Center".
ACLEDA Training Center was transformed into higher education institution named "ACLEDA Institute of Business (AIB)" on January 25, 2016 under sub-decree No. 13 Or Nor Kror.Bor Kor for higher education, Bachelor Degree, Associate Degree and Master Degree.
Dr. Phon Narin continued that due to potentiality of AIB, trainees, students and internal staff grew as follows:
- Local trainees were up from 305 as at December 31, 2009 to 6,475 from 245 institutions as at November 30, 2018.
- International trainees increased from 298 as at December 31, 2009 to 1,877 from 124 institutions and almost 30 countries as at November 30, 2018.
- AIB has commenced the academic year for higher education, Bachelor Degree and Associate Degree in the field of Banking and Finance for 3 promotions from 2016, 2017 and 2018 and has total students of 908 students who are studying at AIB of which Bachelor Degree 614 students, Associate Degree 191 students and General English Class 103 students.
- Beside above external trainees and students growth, number of internal training of ACLEDA Bank Plc.'s management and staff increased from 2,664 courses participated by 37,379 employees as at December 31st, 2009 to 51,796 courses attended by 561,254 employees as at November 30, 2018.
- Staff grew from 34 staff as at December 31, 2009 to 127 staff as at November 30, 2018.
Though the above report is a testimony corroborated that AIB has developed steadily in light with sustainable socio-economic development. At the interim, the labor market in Cambodia and global has necessarily needed high capacity human resources over the past two decades. Taking this opportunity, the ACLEDA Bank Plc. invested in education sector by constructing the new AIB campus which is a wholly-owned local subsidiary to fulfill the high demand of students and trainees and to take its part in education sector in Cambodia to share successful experiences, skill, knowledge, code of conduct and to strengthen education quality in line with policy of government and Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport of Kingdom of Cambodia.
This new campus is very nice and specious and has been built according to international standard. It was designed by professional and reputable Architect known SHNK, based in South Korea and has been constructed by main contractor, Pisnoka which is a professional and reputable local construction company and collaborated with 4 subcontractors and 17 furniture, office and electronic materials and equipment supply companies which are totally 22 local and international companies. This campus has been built about 600 days in the expenses of USD 36,726,888 (including land price) and equipped with the security, fire protection, energy conservation, control and telecommunication, occupational health and IT systems at all the buildings. It has been built on land area 75,750 square meters that included 2 five-storey academic buildings with 81 classrooms which can allocate 6.000-7,000 students (3 sifts), a three-storey administrative building which contained canteen, a three-storey library, a four-storey dormitory with 47 rooms which can allocate 137 students, large parking lot, soccer field, basketball and volleyball courts.
AIB will use this campus in order to achieve the following vision, mission, profession and code of conduct.
- Vision: is to be the leading business school with the highest quality standard to develop the future generation to support the socio-economic development in Cambodia and region.
- Mission: is to provide learners with the superior quality of higher education service and professional training in business education to build their Knowledge, Professional skills, Experiences, Ethics, and Networking. We will at all times observe the highest principles of ethical behaviours, respect for diverse and multi-cultural society, law, and regulations and environment.
- Profession: The students will have precise capacity in their profession with value of virtue and study in line with pattern standard.
- Code of Conduct: The students live perfectly in their lives and works following law, principles, code of ethics, tradition and observe highest code of conduct in business.
H.E. Academician Aun Pornmoniroth, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Finance, said that on behalf of Samdech, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, and myself, I have a great pleasure to highly appreciate the joint effort of H.E, Ladies and Gentlemen who are management and staff of ACLEDA Bank Plc. successfully constructed the AIB Campus. It has been built while the Royal Government of Cambodia under right leadership with long term vision of Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia which has Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport who is a direct supervisory authority, has highly focus on education and professional training sector in Cambodia.
Of course, the remarkable development in education and training sector in recent years did not happen accidentally, it is borne from the active effort with closely cooperation between Ministry, development partners and communities of both private and public sectors with a spirit of responsibility according to their roles and duties in implementation of policy issued by the government for developing and building human resources. Thus, the today inauguration of the AIB Campus is a new testimony that reflects the contribution of private sector in development of education sector in Cambodia with high quality, especially in Banking and Financial sector.
H.E. Academician Aun Pornmoniroth, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Finance, continued that I am highly appreciated the construction of new AIB campus, which has been built according to international standard the same as universities in some region. It has is very nice and specious campus and its academic buildings equipped by sufficient materials and equipment and has large and modern classroom, library, garden, football field, basketball and volleyball courts. The AIB can be considered as a center for human resource development with high quality in line with policy of Royal Government of Cambodia and Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport. It is the institute for choice for both students and trainees locally and internationally for further studying and training to have explicit knowledge, skill and experiences.
Taking this opportunity, on behalf of the Royal Government of Cambodia, I have a great honor and pleasure to address my appreciation and congratulation to the Board of Directors, Management and staff of the AIB, and I would like to encourage them to continue their the hard works for take part in human resources training with high quality, in particular professional finance and banking skill to support the development of banking and financial sector in present and future.
