Grand Opening of Svay Rieng Branch New Office

On August 14, 2009 ACLEDA Bank Plc. Svay Rieng Branch — located along national road no. 1, Kien Sang village, Sangkat Svay Rieng, Svay Rieng municipality, Svay Rieng province, Cambodia — was inaugurated under the presidency of the Svay Rieng Governor; the Ambassador of Germany; the Ambassador of UK; Chairman of the International Business Club (IBC) and Delegation of the IBC from 8 companies; His/Her Excellencies, all levels of local authorities; Chairman, Vice-Chairman, Board of Directors, President & CEO and Management of ACLEDA Bank, as well as national and international distinguished guests.

Mr. TOL Thol, Vice President and Branch Manager of Svay Rieng Branch, said "In June 2000 ACLEDA Bank Plc. Svay Rieng Branch was formed as a microfinance institution and transformed into a specialized bank in October 2000, until December 2003 ACLEDA Bank was licensed as a commercial bank by National Bank of Cambodia. Currently, ACLEDA Bank Plc. Svay Rieng Branch was relocated and built with high standard as a commercial bank. This building has three floors with a high atrium providing large, healthy and safe working space and allowing us to work closer to our customers."

"By July 31, 2009 ACLEDA Bank Plc. Svay Rieng Branch has employed 110 staff. It has nearly US$7 million in total assets, loan outstanding over US$6 million to almost 5,500 customers; and total deposits nearly US$4 million from more than 4,000 customers, and many customers are using other products & services. Particularly, we have ATM and POS for serving our customers," he added.

H.E. CHEANG Orm, the Governor of Svay Rieng Province said "A new beautiful large building of ACLEDA Bank Plc. Svay Rieng Branch is the contribution of management of ACLEDA Bank to build and improve their workplace even more sophisticated, better and more favorable to serve customers with convenience in order to develop society and economy as well as Svay Rieng province to be more prosperous and to reduce poverty based on policy and rectangle strategy of the Royal Government of Cambodia."

During that occasion, Mr. IN Channy, President & CEO of ACLEDA Bank Plc., was proud of such a new office which was built according to bank standard conforming to the long-term strategy of the bank and he firmly believed that the strong relationship with community was an important stimulus and a significant impact on social and economic development of Cambodia.
