Water Bill Payment via ACLEDA Unity

Signing the agreement between PPWSA and ACLEDA Bank

Phnom Penh — November 17, 2010 — The Phnom Penh Water Supply Authority (PPWSA) and ACLEDA Bank Plc. signed the cooperation agreement on the bill payment service for water supply via ACLEDA Unity of ACLEDA Bank Plc.

PPWSA is a state-owned enterprise, generating and supplying the water throughout Phnom Penh and Takhmao city of Kandal province. As of the end of 2009, the total customers of PPWSA are 191,100 and increased to 200,600 as of October 2010.

H.E. EK Sonn Chan, Delegate of the Royal Government of Cambodia in charge of General Director of PPWSA, said that "The reasons that PPWSA has selected ACLEDA Bank Plc. as its partner in providing water bill payment via ACLEDA Unity for all PPWSA's customers because we want to facilitate the bill payment of PPWSA's customers with more convenience and high security. The customers who have just only connected to the ACLEDA Unity will be enabled to make the payment at anytime anywhere. ACLEDA Bank is trusted by the customers for its modern systems and is well established in the country. Furthermore, commercial banking system to manage the payment transactions for this water supply is designed to enhance the financial accountability of PPWSA with more effectiveness."

The President and CEO of ACLEDA Bank Plc., Mr. IN Channy, said that "It's another great achievement of ACLEDA Bank Plc. to cooperate with the state-owned PPWSA for providing water bill payment service via ACLEDA Unity. ACLEDA Bank has serviced EDC with similar service since August 2009 and has been once again selected by the Ministry of Economy and Finance to be partner with the General Department of National Treasury for providing banking services on national revenue and expense transactions in the second stage for altogether eight provinces since October 15, 2010.
