Delegation led by Deputy Governor of Central Bank of Myanmar visit ACLEDA Bank Plc.
April 11, 2012
ACLEDA Training Center (ATC), one of subsidiary companies of ACLEDA bank Plc, has arranged an exposure visit for the delegation of the Central Bank of Myanmar from April 07, 2012 to April 11, 2012 aiming to build good relationship and share the vast experience on microfinance as well as to provide a regional understanding of the impressive accomplishment of the public and private sector in Cambodia in developing an inclusive financial sector.
The program is arranged to meet with the top management of ACLEDA Bank Plc. and to visit ACLEDA Bank's Branches within Phnom Penh and its nearby branches.
The exposure visit is funded by KfW Fellowship Program which managed by ACLEDA Training Center. KfW and ACLEDA are both aware of the need to build capacity on microfinance in the region and are willing to work together to address this need through KfW fellowship Program. It is believed that exposure of policy makers to international best practice in microfinance is of critical importance for the improvement of the regulatory and policy environment conducive to building an inclusive finance sector in the respective country.
ACLEDA Training Center, originally known as ACLEDA-ASEAN Regional Microfinance Training Center, was registered by the Ministry of Commerce of the Kingdom of Cambodia as a Single Member Private Limited Company on September 13, 2011 to provide training services to ACLEDA Bank's staff, local and international participants from other banks, MFIs, NGOs and public. ATC also provide a free internship program to local and international undergraduates.
ACLEDA-ASEAN Regional Microfinance Training Center, that later was transformed to ATC, was established by ACLEDA Bank Plc. in 2008 under the generous support of the Royal Government of Cambodia and co-financed by the Federal Republic of Germany through KfW aiming to build microfinance capacity of practitioners, policy makers, regulators and other people relevant to the development of microfinance for the ASEAN Region and China.
From its inception, besides providing training course to ACLEDA Bank's staff, ATC has provided 125 training courses and exposure visits to 843 local participants from 46 institutions and 721 international participants from 63 institutions and 19 countries as well as offered free internship to 8,855 undergraduates locally and internationally.
