On July 11, 2019, ACLEDA Bank Plc. and SMBC have organized a business networking for discussion about Cambodia's current HR Situation and Banking Services between Japanese corporations and management of both institutions.

SMBC is one of the major shareholders of ACLEDA Bank Plc. which owns 18.25% of ACLEDA Bank Plc.

SMBC has proactively invested its resources in Asian countries with a high growth potential. In order to provide ACLEDA Bank's clients with better-integrated financial services, SMBC has been seconding a senior consultant to the Foreign Corporate Unit (FCU) of ACLEDA Bank since 2013.
