Phnom Penh – August 12, 2022 - ACLEDA Bank Plc. and SMBC celebrate the 10th anniversary of strategic partnership at ACLEDA Bank Plc. Headquarters.
The following are highlights all the developments of this partnership:
In August 2012, ACLEDA Bank and SMBC signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Mutual Business Cooperation.
The both parties further signed a Corporation Services Agreement in September 2013. Under this agreement, a Foreign Corporate Desk was established in ACLEDA Bank Plc.'s Headquarters in order to assist and support ACLEDA Bank to expand commercial bank's products and services to meet international clients' needs, in particular main corporate Japanese customers.
In August 2014, SMBC acquired 12.25% of the ACLEDA Bank shares and appointed one director as a Board member of the Bank. In August 2015, SMBC's stakes rose from 12.25% to 18.25%.
The SMBC has provided their supports to the Bank at all levels from management, Board, and shareholders. The SMBC also provided direct training to employees of the Bank as well as organized and facilitated the field visits and trainings on EBS and digital Banking for technical team of the Bank at digital banks in the region.
With this sustainable and long-term strategic partnership will bring the greater achievement and success the following years to come!
