Blood Donation from ACLEDA Bank Plc.'s Staff

Phnom Penh, 22 December 2023 ACLEDA Bank Plc. "ACLEDA Bank" the first listed Commercial Bank in Cambodia, hereby announces that ACLEDA Bank's management & staff at Headquarters and branches in Phnom Penh voluntarily participated in the blood donation to rescue all patients who need the blood transfusions.

Dr. In Channy, President & Group Managing Director of ACLEDA Bank, said that blood donation is very important to rescue the victims and patients who need blood to treat illness. Taking part in this crucial social activity, ACLEDA Bank voluntarily and charitably participated in the blood donations for 06 times already such as 05 April 2012, 27 January 2016, 03 February 2017, 02 February 2018, 25 January 2019 and 06 March 2023. By the way, during the past few years after the Covid-19 pandemic has relieved, today ACLEDA Bank's management & staff at Headquarters and branches in Phnom Penh, 176 employees including 67 women continue to donate their blood for participating in social and human activities for its 07 times in order to meet the needs of blood to rescue people's lives in case of emergency to the National Blood Transfusion Center Cambodia. Moreover, 410 employees including 93 women of ACLEDA Bank in provincial branches also donate their blood at the provincial referral hospitals.

Dr. Meuk Samean, Deputy Director of National Blood Transfusion Center Cambodia (NBTC), said that Voluntary blood donation activities by ministries, institutions, private companies, and citizens have gradually resumed after the condition of Covid-19 has relieved. Today, we do not have enough blood come from voluntary donors to save lives of people who need blood in urgent yet. We need blood about 150 units for the municipal and 200 units across the country per day for rescuing other victims. Therefore, we need more blood to save lives immediately. She urged and called for Cambodian people across the country, especially the youth would join the blood donation to save the patients who extremely need the blood and these activities really are crucial important to contribute in saving the human lives.

Dr. Meuk Samean also added that if there is no contribution from the kindness of those volunteers, the National Blood Transfusion Center Cambodia and Hospitals including families of patients are difficult because the source of blood donations come from our population, so your participation is very important. She expressed his deep gratitude to the ACLEDA Bank's management & staff at all levels who donated blood to the National Blood Transfusion Center Cambodia to save the patients who need blood as necessary.
