These include voluntary blood donation activities by the management and staff of ACLEDA Bank across the country to save the lives of victims or patients in accidents or illnesses who urgently need blood, in the spirit of Khmer helping Khmer: "One unit of blood from each of us can save a life".
Dr. In Channy, President & Group Managing Director of ACLEDA Bank, said, "In a situation where Cambodia is in need of blood to help save the lives of victims and many patients in hospitals, ACLEDA Bank is delighted, in the spirit of charity and active social participation, to organize the 9th blood donation on 5 September 2025. The event involves the participation of ACLEDA Bank staff at all levels from all 265 offices across the country, with a total of approximately 2,284 people, including 722 women, donating blood at provincial referral hospitals in each province. In this regard, the blood donation at this location was attended by 678 management and staff from the headquarters and branches around Phnom Penh, including 266 women."
It should also be noted that ACLEDA Bank has participated in voluntary blood donations 8 times as shown below:
- In 2012 with 149 people
- In 2016 with 116 people
- In 2017 with 219 people
- In 2018 with 174 people
- In 2019 with 182 people
- In 2023, 2 times were organized, the first time with 453 people and the second time with 487 people
- And in 2024 with 536 people
This activity not only participates in social work but also confirms that "One unit of blood can save a life" is a reality with profound meaning.
Dr. Merck Saman, Deputy Director of National Blood Transfusion Center Cambodia, said that "said that Voluntary blood donation activities by ministries, institutions, private companies, and citizens have gradually resumed after the condition of Covid-19 has relieved. Today, we do not have enough blood come from voluntary donors to save lives of people who need blood in urgent yet. We need blood about 150 units for the municipal and 200 units across the country per day for rescuing other victims. Therefore, we need more blood to save lives immediately. She urged and called for Cambodian people across the country, especially the youth would join the blood donation to save the patients who extremely need the blood and these activities really are crucial important to contribute in saving the human lives."
She also added that if there is no contribution from the kindness of those volunteers, the National Blood Transfusion Center Cambodia and Hospitals including families of patients are difficult because the source of blood donations come from our population, so your participation is very important. She expressed his deep gratitude to the ACLEDA Bank's management & staff at all levels who donated blood to the National Blood Transfusion Center Cambodia to save the patients who need blood as necessary.
