Grand Opening of Kampot-Kep Branch New Office

On June 24, 2009, ACLEDA Bank Plc. Kampot-Kep Branch, located at Ekreach street, 1 Ousphea village, Sangkat Kampong Kandal, Kampot municipality, Kampot province, Cambodia was inaugurated under the presidency of Kampot Province Governor; Kep Province Deputy Governor; His Excellencies and Her Excellencies; all levels of local authorities; Chairman, Board of Directors, President & CEO and Management of ACLEDA Bank; and honorable guests.

Mrs. SOM Sambo, Vice President and Branch Manager of Kampot-Kep Branch, said "By May 31, 2009, Kampot-Kep Branch has employed 133 staff, has total assets almost US$10 million, loan outstanding over US$9 million for more than 9,300 customers, total deposits over US$8.5 million from more than 11,000 customers, and many customers are using other products & services."

"Kampot-Kep Branch was relocated and built with high standard as a commercial bank. This building has three floors with a high atrium providing a large, healthy and safe working space and allowing us to work closer to our customers," she said.

During the event, H.E. KHOY Khun Huor, Governor of Kampot province, said "The new office of Kampot-Kep Branch was established at the right time, based on Cambodian economy, especially in Kampot and Kep provinces which are growing, sustainable, and receiving a huge increase within the previous years. The growth of ACLEDA Bank Plc. Kampot-Kep Branch is a proof of the development, strength, and a part of economics' development in Cambodia, especially in Kampot and Kep provinces."

Mr. IN Channy, President & CEO of ACLEDA Bank, also stated in the event that he was very proud of this new building that was built with banking standard in accordance with our long term strategy. "ACLEDA Bank will upgrade all our branches and offices to meet such a high standard to serve our customers both in private and public. On June 22, 2009, the Ministry of Economy and Finance signed a Memorandum of Understanding with ACLEDA Bank Plc. to be a partner of General Department of National Treasury in providing banking services for national revenue and expenditure transactions in the pilot scheme in two provinces, Kandal and Banteay Meanchey and will expand our dimension to outreach other provinces and towns in Cambodia," he added.
