ACLEDA Bank signed MoU with General Secretariat of the Digital Economy and Business Committee on Informal Economy Registration through Digital Platform for Informal Economy Development

Phnom Penh, on Monday morning, December 16, 2024, ACLEDA Bank Plc. "ACLEDA Bank", the first listed Commercial Bank in Cambodia, hereby announces that ACLEDA Bank and General Secretariat of the Digital Economy and Business Committee, signed a Memorandum of Understanding "MoU" on the one who are in the Informal Economy Registration via Digital Platform for Informal Economy Development under the highest presidency of Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia.
This MOU is extremely pivotal to participate in the implementation of the Royal Government of Cambodia's national policies and strategies in order to enhance the supports and strengthen capacity building, productivity, and resilience of the informal economy as well as promote the national economy growth.
The purpose of this cooperation is to promote and support the registration of informal economy through the digital platform for the development of informal economy following the principle of voluntary based, non-coercion, or intimidation as well as to promote and collaborate with all stakeholders on comprehensive registration both offline and online.
This cooperation is connected to the development of technological systems and provides quick and easy access to data related to businesses or occupations or jobs in the informal economy. ACLEDA Bank has to integrate that receiving information from customers into the digital platform for informal economy development and ensure the digital platform input services for informal economy development run smoothly and high efficiently.
The registration of informal economy population or self-employed is launched on a voluntary basis, and there are many convenient and secure ways to register including registration via phone and online platform through www.informal.digitaleconomy.gov.kh, sub-national institutions, mobile registration center, ACLEDA mobile app or ACLEDA Bank at all nearest branches for free of charge.
The digital platform for informal economy development has been organized by the General Secretariat of the Digital Economy and Business Committee of the Ministry of Economy and Finance in collaboration with relevant ministries and financial institutions.
It is a joint achievement of the Royal Government under the wise leadership and progressive vision of Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei HUN MANET, the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia in order to facilitate the informal economy registration and promote informal economy development in each sector. It will enable them to receive the benefits such as social security, formal financial services, skills development, and government assistance programs.
